The Role: Reporting to the General Manager, the Senior Agronomist will liaise with the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) and other stakeholders to obtain updated information on cocoa agronomy and disseminate to farmers. He or she will travel extensively, and work closely with the Cocoa Abrabopa Association.

Requirements: Minimum of a Masters Degree in Agronomy; Practical know-how of cocoa agronomy demonstrated by at least 10 years of progressive experience working in a similar role; Knowledge of extension services and practical know-how of related scientific methodologies, including the ability to identify and investigate sources of agronomic problems in cocoa; Demonstrated ability to engage farmers and command their respect; Strong leadership and communication skills; Sensitivity to cultural diversity and the ability to engender cooperation from diverse constituents; Ability to communicate in local dialects.

Duty Station: The successful candidate will shuttle between Accra and the various cocoa-growing areas of the country.
