Job Description

Post Title: PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT (P4P UNIT) 2 POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Grade: G6
Contract Type: One year renewable

Expectation:

Co-ordinate and arrange meetings with farmer organisations (FOs) and partners;
Draft local tenders and evaluate offers for the finalisation of purchases and the award of contracts by using WFP’s corporate system;
Arrange Local Procurement Committee meetings;
Liaise with WFP appointed inspection and superintendent firms to ensure quality control, specification conformity, volume assessment, monitoring and verification of deliveries;
Draft technical and legal contracts;
Run system’ queries and prepare reports;
Raise payment requests for all logistics and procurement payments and keep an electronic tracking;
Closely track all local purchases and submit a weekly report on that;
Prepare entries in WINGS II and PAST Food;
Keep the list of local food suppliers and Logistics service;
Collect weekly market prices and send report to OMD. (weekly report every Friday);
Perform any other related activities as required

Required Skills or Experience

Education:

Applicants should have a sound judgment, ability to resolve operational problems and have skills and ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, ability to work in a team and establish effective working relationship with persons of different national and cultural backgrounds coupled with the following:
University Degree or Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, Economics, Agricultural Marketing or any other related discipline from a recognised and reputable institution;
Professional certificate such as CIPS or GAFTA is a plus
