World Vision International is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. For over two decades. World Vision has been working with urban and rural communities in all the 10 Regions of Ghana to improve provision of water, promote sanitation and hygiene practices and quality education. World Vision through a USAID funded Education project in Ghana known as the Transition and Persistence Program (TAP). The TAP project seeks to increase access to junior High School (JHS) by re/constructing and rehabilitating of junior high schools to increase access to equitable and quality education for schools in the rural communities of Ghana.

Job description:

To provide high-level administrative support to the project manager in managing the office effectively and efficiently and liaises with the National Director, Senior Management and external stakeholders to promote and enhance the image of WVG

  • Ensure efficient and effective functioning of the Project Managers Office providing administrative support – scheduling meetings, receiving calls & visitors, receiving & dispatching of correspondence, file and retrieve project documents, maintain records management database systems, reports and oversee maintenance of office equipment and supplies
  • Prepare a variety of high quality, written agreements, memos, letters and other documents
  • Arrange for meetings and conferences, including preparing agendas and minutes for same and making the necessary business travel arrangements
  • Serve as liaison with department managers to help ensure a manageable flow of work and communications
  • Ensure compilation of monthly project reports and support the editing and dissemination of Annual reports

Required Skills or Job Experience:

  • Minimum of a degree in the social science
  • A minimum of three years relevant experience in a similar position
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication (both written and verbal) and critical thinking skills
  • Must have good grammar skills and very fluent in the French language will be an added advantage
  • Be highly proficient with computers, particularly with MS Office (all products including Word, Power Point and Outlook) and utilize various applications, including running reports, spreadsheets and mail merges
  • The preferred candidate must be a committed Christian.
