World Food Programme Recruits <strong>Drivers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: DRIVER<\/strong><br \/>\nGrade: G2<br \/>\nContract Type: One year renewable<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expectation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Drive assigned means of transport for the transport of authorised WFP staff member, visitors, goods, messages, mail, etc;<br \/>\nDrives WFP staff and official visitors to\/from the country\/regional office as per authorised routing and as per UN safety and security rules and regulations;<br \/>\nCollect and deliver goods, mail, documents, and other items;<br \/>\nMeet official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities as required;<br \/>\nTake care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned means of transport, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc; perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean;<br \/>\nLog official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc;<br \/>\nNegotiate, liaise and co-ordinate with local authorities to facilitate smooth running of vehicle\/vessel movements in the designated area;<br \/>\nEnsure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident;<br \/>\nWhere appropriate, schedule drivers and vehicles\/vessels for use on a daily basis;<br \/>\nCheck means of transport for mechanical fitness and the security of the cargo, ensuring that cargo is protected against all weather conditions;<br \/>\nProduce weekly records of mileage travelled and tonnage moved;<br \/>\nCheck log books of the WFP vehicles\/vessels for completeness of record;<br \/>\nIdentify any apparent .problems during field deliveries and report them to the appropriate personnel;<br \/>\nPerform other related duties as required<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At least six years of work experience and knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repairs.
