In addition, they will conduct learning needs analysis; evaluate the effectiveness of learning activities; and will be involved in the design, development and delivery of training materials to meet regional learning and development needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Regional Learning &amp; Development Officer (Grade \u2013 LEII)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nThe main elements of the job include:<br \/>\nAccount Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consult with post leadership to conduct overall learning needs analysis to ensure learning &amp; development needs are identified.<\/li>\n<li>Recommend that the right mix of Learning &amp; Development (L&amp;D) interventions (formal\/informal) is included in the L&amp;D Strategy, in the Post Account Plan and in-line with the organisation, Post, teams and individuals needs.<\/li>\n<li>Cultivate relationships with Posts by maintaining regular contact with key stakeholders in order to support them effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Share L&amp;D best practices with the L&amp;D Network and other Posts.<\/li>\n<li>Support thematic accounts to assist them in achieving their business objectives, working with thematic leads and London Liaisons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Design and Development:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep up to date on Learning &amp; Development trends, ideas and innovations occurring across the globe.<\/li>\n<li>Design and contribute to the development of courses and L&amp;D interventions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Delivery:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deliver internal courses as well as other Learning Interventions to staff located in designated region and across the network, as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Incorporate both formal and informal developmental approaches that include a 70\/20\/10 approach.\u00a0 Delivery includes management, leadership, core diplomatic, team development and soft skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Evaluation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review evaluation forms and available data to determine the level of effectiveness of courses, and other learning interventions.\u00a0 Implement revisions to materials as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Provide continuous feedback and recommendations regarding courses, L&amp;D intervention designs and their effectiveness to the Network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The successful applicant will need to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have a willingness to travel regularly across West and Central Africa and also across wider Africa based on operational need.<\/li>\n<li>Observe the FCO\u2019s diversity and equality policies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Information for applicants:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This position is within the LEII range of responsibilities. The monthly gross salary range for LEII positions in the BHC is GHc 1885 (rising in increments of GHc 73 based on performances) to a maximum of GHc 2907. The starting gross salary is negotiable depending upon experience within the range of GHc1885-2031 a month. Medical insurance is provided plus 26 days annual leave.<\/li>\n<li>The appointment will initially be offered on a 1 year contract and subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period. Thereafter, the appointment may be renewed for a period of 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance and business requirements.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Specific training and learning opportunities for the role will be provided for the successful candidate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The skills\/attributes of the successful applicant will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Experience of designing and delivering training programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in learning needs identification and learning and development evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner<\/li>\n<li>Absolute fluency in spoken and written English<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish effective professional relationships with a range of stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working with people in both formal and informal settings<\/li>\n<li>Ability to organise own workloads and meet deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Confident in the use of ICT in training delivery<\/li>\n<li>A training and\/or coaching qualification is desirable<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate confidently and fluently in French is very desirable<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel up to 2 weeks\/ month<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>The successful applicant is likely to have (one or more of):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A\u00a0university degree;<\/li>\n<li>Work-place experience of facilitating training<\/li>\n<li>Strong IT skills using Microsoft software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>To apply, send the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A one-page covering letter in English setting out why you are suitable for the job<\/li>\n<li>A CV of no more than two pages in English, detailing your qualifications and experience<\/li>\n<li>Name and contact details of three people or organisations who will be prepared to provide a reference on demand.
