{"id":11094,"date":"2013-06-14T11:03:40","date_gmt":"2013-06-14T11:03:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=11094"},"modified":"2013-12-26T08:53:12","modified_gmt":"2013-12-26T08:53:12","slug":"kwame-nkrumah-university-recruiting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/kwame-nkrumah-university-recruiting.html","title":{"rendered":"Kwame Nkrumah University Recruiting"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the appointment to the following position in the University:\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Post-Doctoral\u00a0Fellowship<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Civil\u00a0Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana is implementing a research project on &#8220;<strong>Stimulating Local Innovation on Sanitation for the Urban Poor<\/strong>&#8221; with UNESCO-IHE and partners from other developing countries in Sub-Sahara Africa, South East Asia and America.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The two principal objectives of the project are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To stimulate local innovation on\u00a0Sanitation for the Urban Poor through research and<\/li>\n<li>To strengthen the Sanitation Sector in developing countries through education and traiining<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The project seeks to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase the number of sanitation professionals in developing countries<\/li>\n<li>Provide adequate research, education and training for the new generation of &#8216;all-round&#8217; sanitary engineers<\/li>\n<li>Make post-graduate education in sanitary engineering more accessible to individuals from developing countries, and<\/li>\n<li>Further strengthen the pro-poor sanitation component at the academic institutions involved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A vacancy for the position of Post-Doc Fellow currently exists at the Department of Civil\u00a0Engineering for which a dynamic, credible and highly motivated qualified individual is required. The person must be resident in\u00a0Ghana and preferably must have recently finished their PhD work in the subject theme that will be worked on. Reporting to the KNUST Project Leader, the Post-Doc Fellow shall:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be responsible for mentoring the PhD students in\u00a0Ghana<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible for bringing the work of the three PhD students together by coordinating their research work in\u00a0Ghana<\/li>\n<li>Support the general operational management and coordination of the project in\u00a0Ghana.<span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested persons should send their CV&#8217;s and a motivation letter to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:hmanipa@yahoo.com\">hmanipa@yahoo.com<\/a>, the title of the e-mail should be &#8220;<strong>Post-doc application on Faecal Sludge<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p><em>Only shortlisted applications would be called for an interview.
