Job Title:\u00a0Health and Nutrition Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n

PURPOSE OF POST<\/strong>
\nUnder the supervision of the Health & Nutrition Specialist and under the guid\u00adance of Chief of Health and Nutrition Section provide technical support to regional health services for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evalua\u00adtion, including data analysis, progress reporting, knowledge networking and capacity building of health and nutrition activities.<\/p>\n

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Ensure that UNICEF health and nutri\u00adtion support is aligned to government policies and priorities.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Work closely with Regional Health Services to design, implement, monitor and evaluate the integrated health and nutrition components of the Country Programme Plan of Action and Regional Plan of Work.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Provide technical support to govern\u00adment and NGOs at regional and district levels in planning, implementation and evaluation of health and nutrition projects.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Identify, plan and evaluate sustainable advocacy and capacity building activities
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Undertake field visits to monitor programmes against agreed targets and indicators Conduct periodic programme reviews with regional government counterparts and other partners at district sub-district and community levels. Propose and\/or undertake action to improve project implementation and management
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Analyse and evaluate programme data to ensure achievement of objectives and\/or take corrective action when nec\u00adessary to meet programme objectives.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Prepare monthly progress reports for documentation of implementation, lessons learnt and best practises.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 In conjunction with Accra office, ensure lessons learnt -feed \u2018upstream\u2019 to influence national policy agenda
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Input and manage financial and activity level information into SAP (VISION)<\/p>\n

Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0University Degree in Public Health and Nutrition, Health Planning\/Management or other relevant field.<\/p>\n

WORK EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Two years of progressively responsible professional work experience in planning. programming, imp\u2019ementation monitoring and evaluation of health and nutrition pro\u00adgrammes. Professional work experience in programme management function or a technical expert capacity in nutrition, child survival \u00a3 health care.<\/p>\n

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Fluency in English required. Knowledge of local working language of the duty station and another UN working language an asset.<\/p>\n
