Job Title:\u00a0Health and Safety (SHE) Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n Reporting to the Head of corporate Real Estate Services, this role is responsible for ensuring thatBarclays Bank\u00a0of Ghana complies with any applicable\u00a0Occupational Health and Safety\u00a0law and associated regulations by managing the bank\u2019s Safety, Health and environment policies and ensuring compliance. The role holder will have to develop a Health and Safety (H & S) strategic framework for the business.<\/p>\n Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Provide operational technical support in H & S to the\u00a0Barclays Bank\u00a0of Ghana CRES team as well as engage other internal stakeholders on H & S incidents Qualification Required and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n Essential (knowledge, experience and skills)<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0 A minimum of 5 years experience in the management or coordination of health and safety issues Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Accra<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Co-ordinate the development of\u00a0Barclays Bank\u00a0of Ghana H & S policies and standards
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Develop, implement, maintain and monitor an Occuational Health & Safety (OHS) system for the bank which requires active participation from all employees
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Revise and update OHS policies, procedures and specifications as and when changes are made
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Implement safety policy and ensure the bank is fully compliant with all requirements as per policy and any applicable law or regulations
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Conduct regular inspection of all premises that accomodate colleagues, where business is transacted or the public have access, to identify and access any risks to safety and give appropriate recommendations with the view to eliminate or reduce the risk
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 To work with the Head of CRES and HR in conducting safety, health and environmental training and awareness to all colleagues
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Ensure that first aiders, fire wardens, security persons are trained regularly and copies of certificates kept for record
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Monitor\u00a0waste disposal\u00a0activities and ensure they are in line with any environmental laws or regulations applicable.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Lead in arranging ergonomic assessment for staff annually
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Periodically audit food vendors and suppliers of drinking water to ensure that production is in line with best practice
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Develop and implement local plans for utility consumtion reduction
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Drive performance towards compliance with ISO 14001 standards
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Ensure that the business complies with applicable local environmental laws and regulations as well as other corporate directives.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Knowledge and experience of statutory and legal obligations relating to health, safety and environmental
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Diploma \/ Degree in\u00a0the fields of\u00a0Engineering,\u00a0Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management or similar
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain an up to date knowledge of\u00a0competitor\u00a0and market activity in local cluster
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Experience of managing at a time of significant cultural and operational change
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 At least 2 years working experience in auditing and risk management<\/p>\n
