Our goal is to raise transformational leaders to influence change on the African Continent. The MasterCard\u00a0Foundation\u00a0Scholars Program at KNUST provides academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people in Ghana and Africa with access to quality and relevant\u00a0university education. It embodies an array of\u00a0mentoring\u00a0and cultural transition services to ensure student academic success, community engagement and transition to employmentopportunities\u00a0which will further social and economic change for Africa.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Scholarship\u00a0includes:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Comprehensive financial support (full tuition, fully paid accomodation, learning materials and uniforms, transportation and stipend Eligiblity<\/strong><\/p>\n For the 2014 \/ 2015 Acamedic year, the opportunity is open to:<\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0All students from the 303 less endowed schools (classified by the Ghana Education Service) who satisfy KNUST\u2019s\u00a0admission\u00a0requirements<\/strong> What Next?<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Only shortlisted applicants will be called for interviews to be held at the KNUST Secretariat of MasterCard\u00a0Foundation\u00a0Scholars Program, Office of the Dean of Students, 26th \u2013 30th June, 2014
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Regular group meetings with other scholars that focus on personal and professional development\u00a0opportunities\u00a0and activities tailored to build relationships and scholar capacity
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Continued academic support through acedemic\u00a0mentoring, vertual learning, life and career coaching and tutoring
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Opportunities\u00a0to participate in leadership congresses, community service andmentoring\u00a0(Go-back Give-Back<\/strong>) and uniquely sourced intership
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 An academic environment where faculty and students engage with globals issues
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 The prestige of becoming part of the growing family of MasterCard\u00a0FoundationScholars Alumni<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0However, attention will be given to students outside the less endowed schools with extremely critical needs<\/strong>
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 International students from provable economically vulnerable background
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Girls and physically challenged applicants will be given top priority<\/strong>
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 A perfernce for science students, however, all subjects are considered<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Final Selection will be done by an independent panel constituted by the Vice Chancellor of KNUST
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Verification of All examination results and door to door visits of successful, candidates will be conducted
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Award of the\u00a0Scholarship\u00a0will be announced two weeks before the start of the Semester<\/p>\n
