The U.S. Embassy in Accra is seeking an individual for the position of a WAE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT\/SECURITY ESCORT<\/strong><\/em> under the Human Resource Section of the Embassy.<\/p>\n

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Incumbent provides services on an as-needed basis. S\/he may be called upon to develop onetime reports, provide coverage during staffing gaps and\/or provide security escort services. The incumbent reports to the Human Resources Officer, ARSO, IMO, or Facilities Manager, as appropriate.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 A copy of the complete position description listing all duties and responsibilities is available in the Human Resources Office.<\/p>\n

Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong><\/em> All applicants are instructed to address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each criteria.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Completion of secondary school is required.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 One year of experience working in office, management or security-related field.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Level III English (Good working knowledge of the written and spoken language.) Job holder must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively with staff and members of the public in English. Language proficiency will be tested.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS-Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Publisher) is required. A good working knowledge of general office operations is required.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Basic knowledge of security access procedures, the proper use of security-related equipment (radio, shredders, etc.). \u2022\u00a0\u00a0 familiar with the layout of the mission grounds and facilities.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.<\/p>\n

SELECTION PROCESS<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFMs) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Management will consider nepotism\/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.<\/p>\n
