The main purpose of this position is to ensure that the lifecycle of a student is carried out operationally as defined by the Dean of the Faculty, and the Faculty Officer will be the first point of contact for most faculty enquiries. The incumbent will be expected to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Capture student records.<\/li>\n<li>Select student applicants.<\/li>\n<li>Handle problems related to applications.<\/li>\n<li>Advise management on graduation matters.<\/li>\n<li>Advise on enrolment and course progression.<\/li>\n<li>Sign-off the registration approval of students.<\/li>\n<li>Act as custodian of the current students\u2019 academic record.<\/li>\n<li>Represent students of the faculty on academic matters.<\/li>\n<li>Source all documentation pertaining to the lifecycle of the student.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and oversee the logistics related to examinations and graduations for the faculty.<\/li>\n<li>Act as a link between the students in the faculty and faculty\u2019s management on academic matters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a relevant subject.<\/li>\n<li>Two years\u2019 experience in Office Administration, preferably in a department or faculty within a\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0higher education setting<\/li>\n<li>Two years using MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook in an office setting.<\/li>\n<li>One year supervisory experience.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal, reading, and written communication skills,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ADDED ADVANTAGE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good knowledge of academic regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of university policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Student administration experience<\/li>\n<li>Archives and Record Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>OTHER RECOMMENDED SKILLS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Target oriented<\/p>\n<p>Problem solving abilities<\/p>\n<p>Time management skills<\/p>\n<p>Excellent interpersonal skills<\/p>\n<p>Exceptional presentation skills<\/p>\n<p>Listening skills<\/p>\n<p>Attention to detail<\/p>\n<p>Ability to work under pressure<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a skills test<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> Closing date of applications:<\/strong> May 30, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements, as specified above, will not be considered and should not apply.<\/p>\n<p>If you are not contacted within 2 months of the closing date, please consider your application unsuccessful.
