The University for Development Studies, Tamale<\/b> was established in 1992 as a multi-campus institution. It is the fifth publicuniversity to be established in Ghana. This deviates from the usual practice of having universities with central campuses and administrations. It was created with the three northern regions of North Ghana in mind. These are the Northern Region, Upper East Region and the Upper West Region.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 In the discharge of his\/her duties, the Director of Sports shall report to the Vice-Chancellor through the Registrar.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Design and implement the University’s Sports programmes
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Co-ordinate all sporting activities and games on all the University’s Campuses
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Be responsible for drawing up curricula for short and regular courses in Sports Management, Physical Education and Recreation, and related fields
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Provide leadership to the Sports Coaches and all other staff in the Sports Directorate<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Must EITHER a be Deputy Director of Sports in a University or analogous institution for a minimum of three (3) years<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Must have exceptional fund raising abilities for sports projects and activities.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Must have wide practical experience in sports administration.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Must be able to work for a minimum of five (5) years before attaining the statutory retirement age of sixty (60) years<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 In addition, candidates applying for the position should send a brief statement of their vision for the growth and development of Sports in the University for Development Studies and the strategies for achieving this, in not more than two pages of A4 size paper;
