{"id":14132,"date":"2016-06-16T13:47:14","date_gmt":"2016-06-16T13:47:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=14132"},"modified":"2016-11-15T11:22:38","modified_gmt":"2016-11-15T11:22:38","slug":"central-university-college-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/central-university-college-jobs.html","title":{"rendered":"Central University College Jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Horticulturist is the head of the University\u2019s Horticultural Unit and reports to the Director (Administration) of the University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Horticulturist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Key Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assumes responsibility for maintaining the University\u2019s plants, parks\/gardens together with all issues relating to landscaping<\/li>\n<li>Provides technical and administrative support to the Unit and University as a whole<\/li>\n<li>Takes responsibility for the operations, growth and harvesting of various types of plants in and around the University campuses<\/li>\n<li>Prepares technical specifications for plant variety protection<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the formulation of design policies for the University<\/li>\n<li>Conducts training for all \u00a0horticultural and gardening hiring<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the procurement and maintenance of horticultural machines, and implements<\/li>\n<li>Maintains regular inventory of such equipments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum qualification of bachelor degree in horticulture or related field<\/li>\n<li>Knowledgeable in all types of plants<\/li>\n<li>10-15 continuous years of practical institutional and managerial experience in ornamental horticulture (technical educational park administration is desired)<\/li>\n<li>Field experience in horticulture, parks and gardens especially in tertiary educational environment is desirable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u><strong>Skills\/Competencies<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must possess excellent knowledge in ornamental horticulture in all areas, plant propagation and cultivation principles of nursery management, basic principles of landscaping.<\/li>\n<li>Have Natural aptitude for gardening, care and maintenance of plants<\/li>\n<li>Supervisory skills in supervising diverse subordinate staff<\/li>\n<li>Report writing, facilitation and communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"how-to-apply\"><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"fianuke\">\n<ul>\n<li>Interested persons with the requisite qualification(s) and related work experience should submit completed application forms<\/li>\n<li>Application forms (can be obtained either by downloading from www.central.edu.gh or from the Office of the Director, Human Resource Directorate, Miotso Campus or Call 0303 951478\/ 0303 935687 or 0289 546164 for further enquires)<\/li>\n<li>Application letter<\/li>\n<li>A 2-page statement indicating how one intend to use the period in office to address relevant issues pertaining to the function:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>THE DIRECTOR (HRM) CENTRAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE P.
