It is one of the component institutions over which the Ministry for Justice has oversight responsibility and is governed by a twelve (12) member Board of Directors, The Scheme operates countrywide from ten (10) offices in all the Regional capitals.<\/p>\n<p>The Scheme is tasked under the Legal Aid Scheme Act 1997 (Act 542) to provide legal assistance to the poor and indigent, as well as other persons in the prosecution and defence of their rights under the Constitution of Ghana<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Job Location: Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions<\/p>\n<p>Directs and supervises the work in the Region\/Division<br \/>\nCarries out the day-to-day administration and management of the Scheme in the Region\/Division<br \/>\nServes as Secretary to the Regional Legal Aid Committee<br \/>\nEnsures the collation and submission of half yearly, annual and other reports in time to the Director<br \/>\nReviews cases and recommends Officers to be assigned cases for appropriate action<br \/>\nRepresents clients in court, when necessary<br \/>\nInitiates and advises the Regional Committee on policy matters<br \/>\nImplements the decisions of the Board and the Regional Committee<br \/>\nAssists in the review of cases for appropriate action<br \/>\nSupervises the organisation of regular review meetings<br \/>\nPerforms any other functions to be assigned by the Executive Director<br \/>\nSALARY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:<br \/>\nRemuneration is attractive with fringe benefits.
