Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title:\u00a0 Project Manager Arts<\/strong><\/p>\n Project Information<\/strong><\/p>\n To mark the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare\u2019s death in 2016, the British Council and the GREAT Britain campaign are coordinating a major global programme \u2018Shakespeare Lives\u2019 that celebrates his works and influence on culture, education, and society. In line with this programme, British Council Ghana is introducing a project \u2018Shakespeare Lives in Ghana\u2019 which:<\/p>\n \u2013 Looks at the relevance of Shakespeare in today\u2019s Ghana by exploring local attitudes towards women and girls and mapping these onto Shakespeare\u2019s representation of women.<\/p>\n \u2013 Increases awareness and public dialogue about attitudes towards women and gender inequality issues by using theatre as a platform to discuss difficult and potentially controversial topics.<\/p>\n \u2013 Helps empower women by building their capacity to identify and respond to negative gender perceptions and associated behaviour in the media and in the workplace.<\/p>\n Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2013 Raising funds for programmes, preferably arts programmes, from a variety of sources.
