\nLocation: UN Dispensary, Accra-Ghana.<\/p>\n
The Office of the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations Systems in Ghana invites eligible candidates to apply for the post of Laboratory Technician to be based at the UN Dispensary in Ghana.<\/p>\n
FUNCTIONS OF THE POST: Under the guidance and direct supervision of the UN Physician, the Laboratory Technician manages the dispensary laboratory and carries out laboratory tests as requested consistent with international medical procedures.<\/p>\n
Perform all laboratory tests as requested by the UN Physician, such as haematology, gram-stain, acid fast, parasitology and urinalysis and clinical chemistry;
\nMaintain a daily log-book\/record of all laboratory procedures and submit quarterly laboratory reports;
\nKeep an inventory of laboratory supplies and ensure that supplies are always replenished and adequate;
\nMaintain the laboratory in good order by keeping it clean and ensuring that laboratory equipment are kept in good working condition;
\nEnsure proper storage of reagents and proper disposal of specimens;
\nHelp to facilitate the procurement of dispensary stock;
\nAssist in any other dispensary work as required.
\nRequired Skills or Experience<\/p>\n
Medical Laboratory Technologist Certificate or Diploma.
\nMinimum of 3 years working experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician in a recognized institution.
\nShould be registered with the Medical Council of Ghana as a Medical Laboratory Technician<\/p>\n
