Rural banks were first established in Ghana in 1976 to provide banking services to the rural population, providing credit to small-scale farmers and businesses and supporting development projects,[1] with the first being in Agona Nyakrom in Central Region.The banks are locally owned and managed.By 2002 115 rural banks had been established.They are supervised by the clearing bank ARB Apex Bank\u00a0under the regulation of the Bank of Ghana,which owns shares in the banks.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Ensure that the bank’s operations are in line with the internal policies of the bank and regulatory bodies
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Monthly report on matters of supervisory concern and make recommendations to the board on the bank’s operations
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Ensuring that the internal control systems are working effectively and efficiently
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Conduct investigations and report findings arising from the Board of Directors
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Other duties that may be assigned to him by the Board of Directors and or the General Manager<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Candidate must demonstrate capacity to manage a department
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in rural banking or savings and loans company with at least 3 years in management position<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Good oral and written communication skills
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Able to do technical and financial appraisal and credit assessment
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Good leadership skills
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Must be computer literate and conversant with accounting software<\/p>\n
