{"id":1455,"date":"2010-11-15T17:55:33","date_gmt":"2010-11-15T17:55:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=1455"},"modified":"2013-12-27T11:21:48","modified_gmt":"2013-12-27T11:21:48","slug":"golden-star-wassa-limited-jobs-projects-quantity-surveyor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/golden-star-wassa-limited-jobs-projects-quantity-surveyor.html","title":{"rendered":"Golden Star (Wassa) Limited Jobs: Projects Quantity Surveyor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Golden Star (Wassa) Limited<\/strong>, a subsidiary of Golden Star Resources (GSIR), with head office in Denver, USE, is a gold mining company situated at Akyempim in the Mpohor Wassa East District of the Western Region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reporting to the Projects Superintendent, the role involves the responsibility for ensuring that all cost estimates for capital and mine operation projects are fully monitored and controlled in accordance with approved policies and procedures of the company<\/p>\n<p><strong>The successful candidate shall be responsible for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preparing detailed cost estimates for capital and mine operation projects<br \/>\nMonitoring and controlling estimated expenditure against budgets in accordance with applicable policies and procedures of the company<br \/>\nProviding timely project cost and progress reports including feed-back on all activities as required by the Projects Superintendent, including assistance in verifying contract claims and payments<br \/>\nMonitoring and managing all day works or variations that are external to construction contracts<br \/>\nEnsuring that all tasks are performed in a cost-effective manner and within budget at all times<br \/>\nEnsuring timely completion of projects within approved budget<br \/>\nWill be required to undertake other site supervisory duties as and when required<br \/>\nContract Period: Two (2) years Fixed Contract<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:<\/strong> The roles goes with a very competitive salary package and other fringe benefits<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Must have a degree or HND in Building Technology from a recognised institution<br \/>\nIn addition, must have been trained in General Quantity Surveying practices with membership of Ghana Institute of Surveyors (GhIS) being an added advantage<br \/>\nMust have at least five (5) years relevant work experience in the construction industry, preferably in the mining environment<br \/>\nMust demonstrate an extensive exposure in Project Cost Estimating &amp; Budgeting, Cost Planning &amp; Control and Project implementation skills<br \/>\nMust be computer literate with working knowledge in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office applications.
