VeriFone Mobile Money now delivers much-needed retail enablement services through secure contactless payment devices and a Mobile Money Payments Switch for quick and easy mobile money acceptance at the point-of-sale, bridging the gap between mobile wallets and the point of sale..<\/p>\n<p>With VeriFone Mobile Money\u2019s secure end-to-end platform, providers can confidently offer their subscribers fraudless and scalable mobile money and financial services without time-consuming network integration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Senior Support Engineer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Position:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reporting to the Global Services Manager, as Support Engineer you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of support activities and customers across West Africa. The role will cover both Anglophone and Francophone countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong> include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>VeriFone Mobile Money and Youtap! customer support<\/li>\n<li>Managing backup of the oracle databases<\/li>\n<li>Monitor customer database backups and resolve issues as they arise<\/li>\n<li>Monitor customer\u2019s production systems and identify performance bottle necks before they escalate<\/li>\n<li>Respond and resolve customer queries in a timely fashion<\/li>\n<li>Following up open issues and liaisons with the end customer to seek a resolution<\/li>\n<li>Installing patches<\/li>\n<li>Performing database queries<\/li>\n<li>Building hardware, operating system and Eclipse application software as required<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with new customer implementations as applicable and directed<\/li>\n<li>Monthly customer and management reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Our Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You should have at least 5 years experience in a similar role, preferably from within the telecoms or information technology sector. In addition, you&#8217;ll have the following skills and experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5+ years of customer support<\/li>\n<li>3+ years of hardware support<\/li>\n<li>3+ years of software support<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Oracle, Redhat and Java<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of Unix<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of SQL<\/li>\n<li>Ability to think conceptually<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility to work weekends or after hours from time to time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PLEASE NOTE: This role involves supporting Francophone countries so the successful candidate must be fluent in French.
