To prepare and dispense medicines accurately, safely and promptly under the Resident Medical Officer’s overall supervision and assist with stock control, ordering and re-stocking of the dispensary.<\/p>\n
Reporting to the: Resident Medical Officer (RMO), the role holder will perform the following duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n To dispense to patients medicines as required by the Resident Medical officer at the Sam Jonah Hospital and\/or other referral Hospitals. \nMaintain full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions by ensuring that all receipts and issues are recorded and checked with the RMO.
\nTo prepare drugs for distribution to all First Aid Posts upon request.
\nOperate efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients
\nTo utilise stock in date order to minimise wastage caused by time-expired items.
\nTo check drugs delivered each day against invoices, retain invoices until the end of the month to verify against operating cost statement of the Hospital
\nEnsure that drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the manufacturers’ instructions
\nEnsure that all refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and maintaining the temperature control record\/logbook.
\nUpdate the RMO on tracer drag availability and status periodically.
\nRequisition for drugs when appreciable quantities are used up.
\nParticipate in prescribing audits as and when required
\nEnsure that appropriate security measures are maintained for the dispensary whilst on duty. That any breaches are brought to the attention of the RMO as soon as possible.
\nAny other dudes as may be assigned by the RMO in accordance to the company’s policies.<\/p>\n
\nMinimum of 2 years working experience as a Dispensary technician and must be computer literate.
\nOther Requirements:
\nAbility to work at odd hours including night shifts and for long hours
\nMust have adequate knowledge in Mine Safety Regulation and practices
\nMust be able to apply standards, policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data
\nMust have good interpersonal and communication skills
\nMust have strong ethics and positive attitude to work
\nUsing appropriate infection control procedure must be able to maintain work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards<\/p>\n
