Our global network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Responsibilities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Job Summary The Project Accountant is responsible for the financial administration of multiple projects of varying sizes for various business lines and groups of project managers and is the Finance representative on the project team. The project accountant will work closely with the operations team over the complete life cycle of a project, including the bid preparation phase. Primary responsibilities align with the use of Oracle APIC as the selected management tools used to maintain and deliver projects within AECOM.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Project Accountant is responsible for<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interface daily with project manager and project delivery team.<\/li>\n<li>Assist Project Manager with project setup, project monitoring, system updating and closeout; Monitor projects for contract compliance<\/li>\n<li>Insure all incurred cost is reflected accurately and in a timely fashion on the project<\/li>\n<li>Monitor project performance and key indicators support PM as required in understanding project performance<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the financial impact of change orders are reflected correctly in APIC<\/li>\n<li>Monitor &amp; analyze revenue to ensure proper revenue recognition methods used; be able to explain key project metrics and lead indicators.<\/li>\n<li>Assist project manager with the preparation and update of the EAC for all active projects; ensure that the current budget reflects original as-sold contract plus all client approved changes<\/li>\n<li>Managing the payment of suppliers<\/li>\n<li>Participate in project review preparation, execution, and follow up as agreed with Project Manager and Review team<\/li>\n<li>Support End Market Finance Lead in monthly close activities as outlined by Africa Financial Management team<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the preparation of the project risk analysis and revenue authorization requests<\/li>\n<li>Work proactively over the month to clear project financial issues in APIC; such as % complete &gt; 100%, BIEE adjustments, cash &gt; contract value and others as outlined by Africa Financial Management team<\/li>\n<li>Support Project Management team in Oracle and APIC system understanding<\/li>\n<li>Follow up on month end events to ensure they are processed in APIC timely<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and monitor project cash flow on complex\/risk based projects as required<\/li>\n<li>Perform project analysis and prepare reports upon request for management review<\/li>\n<li>Understand the commercial and billing requirements of the projects; ensure that all invoices are captured and send to clients according to approved schedules<\/li>\n<li>Support project pursuit teams in bid preparation as required<\/li>\n<li>Internal and external audit support, when required<\/li>\n<li>Special projects and other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Person Specification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong analytical, written and verbal skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively at all levels<\/li>\n<li>Detail oriented<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks accordingly<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment<br \/>\n<u><\/u><strong><u><br \/>\nRequirements<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Minimum Requirements Specific skills required<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficient computer skills on MS office<\/li>\n<li>Excel level 3<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in a project management system<br \/>\n<strong><u><br \/>\nExperience<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>2-5 year experience in project accounting or more than 10 years financial accounting experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience in billing and AR<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with project revenue generation and cost planning<br \/>\n<strong><u><br \/>\nPreferred Qualifications B Com Degree Or Project Management Qualification (CIMA)<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What We Offer AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
