Legon road and within a stone&#8217;s throw of the University  of Ghana, Legon.\u00a0 Greenhill, with its white buildings and surrounded by green vegetation and the Achimota Forest Reserve, is a spot of striking and restful scenic beauty.\u00a0 On clear days it commands in one long panoramic sweep, a view embracing the University of Ghana with the undulating Accra Plains in the background, the Kotoka International Airport, the plush Westlands Residential area and the hills of the Akwapim Range.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job description:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong> Extractive Industry &#8211; Regional Knowledge Manager<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong> 3 years (initial) with the possibility of a 2 year extension<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> GIMPA Greenhill, Achimota, Accra<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong> Very Attractive<\/p>\n<p><strong>Management:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage      the day-to-day affairs of the Hub, its programmes in consultation with the      Hub coordinator and the Hubs steering committee<\/li>\n<li>The      incumbent will be responsible for proposal development and resource      mobilization for sustainability of the Hub programmes<\/li>\n<li>Working      with the Steering Committee to establish and agree on annual work plans to      implement strategic objectives agreed in 3 year plan, and regularly report      on progress to the Steering Committee, seeking support and guidance where      necessary<\/li>\n<li>Develop      a database of regional experts that can provide consultancies and      technical assistance to target groups<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring      and Evaluation of each activity and organizing periodic program      evaluations as may be determined<\/li>\n<li>Supervise      and support the work of the Administrative Staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Coordination:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate      meetings, training and other capacity building events for the Hub&#8217;s target      groups<\/li>\n<li>Establish      appropriate mechanisms to ensure regular consultation with Parliament,      Civil Society, medial and local government authorities, providing      appropriate opportunities for learning<\/li>\n<li>Liaise      with, advise and participate where appropriate in target groups&#8217;      activities<\/li>\n<li>Ensure      that all alumni of EIKH capacity building mechanisms receive mentorship      and support for regional experts<\/li>\n<li>Run      Training of Trainers workshops in EI related subjects to grow the number      of qualified trainers who can in turn undertake training in the sub-hubs<\/li>\n<li>Plan      and organize regional annual training courses on EI related subjects and      develop on EI expert resource (drop-in) center for the use of target      groups<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Policy Analysis:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain      an up-to-date analysis of extractive industry governance and its relevance      for policy makers and civil society as well as partner-country governments      and parliaments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NB:<\/strong> This job description is not prescriptive; it merely outlines the key tasks and responsibilities of the post<br \/>\nRequired Skills\/ Job experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The      ideal person must possess strong working knowledge of the extractive      sector ideally with a suitable background in advocacy in the extractive      industry<\/li>\n<li>5-10      years of progressively more responsible positions in project management,      preferably working with civil society, legislators, media or public sector<\/li>\n<li>Experience      of planning, managing and implementing advocacy and or capacity building      projects<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate      track record of achieving results in policy development, authoring      advocacy<\/li>\n<li>Briefs      and reports and building successful relations with decision-makers<\/li>\n<li>Commitment      to uphold the aim and mission for setting up the EI Knowledge Hub<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge      in various capacity building and training methods<\/li>\n<li>Ability      to develop and lead a sustainability plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong      effective communicator including in writing strong project reports, making      presentations and in interpersonal communication<\/li>\n<li>High      degree of personal and professional integrity is preferable<\/li>\n<li>Able      to direct the efforts of a team of diverse backgrounds, and ability to      work with people from different organisations across Anglophone Africa<\/li>\n<li>Experience      of facilitation, training, mentoring and understanding of adult learning      principles and methods preferred but not essential<\/li>\n<li>You      should be a motivated self-starter with keen attention to detail and must      be IT literate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At      least a post-graduate degree in related field (Extractive Industry or      Governance related area, Petroleum\/Mining related degree, Development      Studies, Social Sciences)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants may submit their application, including their most recent curriculum vitae (CV) and relevant documents by E-mail to the following address:<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nThe Human Resource Manager<br \/>\nGhana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA)<br \/>\nP.
