CARE International in Ghana is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of a Project Coordinator for PATHWAYS MACF. The Pathways initiative in Ghana is part of CARE USA Pathways program that seeks to empower poor women smallholder farmers through their more productive and equitable engagement in Agriculture. The \u2018Pathways to Secure and Resilient Livelihoods project will work with smallholder farmers, especially women, from poor households to reduce their vulnerability and susceptibility to natural disasters and increase their resilience in the face of climate change.<\/p>\n

Job Title:\u00a0Project Coordinator<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 The Project Coordinator of this initiative reports to the Program Manager of the Pathways Program in CARE-Ghana.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 The position is based in Tamale, and covers project implementation, management and coordination responsibilities in Upper West and Upper East Regions of Ghana.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 S\/he is responsible for facilitating adequate communication, team building, accountability, monitoring, and effective collaboration between partners \/ stakeholders involved in project implementation.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 The position is based in Tamale.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 S\/He is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and action plans for the achievement of the outcomes and outputs of the project.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 S\/He will be responsible for community activity planning and implementation, collaboration at the community level, and monitoring and reporting of all project activities in their respective technical areas.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 The project Coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 To improve knowledge, skills, relationships, self-confidence and conviction of poor women farmers in soy and groundnut value chain in Upper East and West.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 To increase access to productive resources, assets, markets, and appropriate and reliable services and inputs for poor women farmers and entrepreneurs.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 To improve the adaptive capacity, yield, and income of farmers through the adoption of sustainable agriculture, value addition, and market engagement practices.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 To increase poor women farmers\u2019 influence over household and community decision-making
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 More positive and enabling attitudes, behaviors, social norms, policies, and institutions around women\u2019s empowerment and women\u2019s roles in agricultural value chains.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Facilitating team work and effectiveness through regular project team meetings, and ensuring adequate communication within project team. This includes the local NGO partners and other key stakeholders involved with project implementation.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Providing orientation, coaching, counseling and capacity support to staff and team members and demonstrating exemplary transparency and participatory decision making to maintain effective team spirit and foster team work.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Identify & strategically manage relevant collaboration opportunities at different levels of implementation that enhance operational & implementation learning
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 In collaboration with project staff and partners country wide, ensure that innovations, best practices, and lessons learned are developed and disseminated.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Provide support to the Monitoring and Evaluation unit in ensuring that monitoring and Evaluation aspects of the project are in line with agreed upon program strategic goals and objectives and also ensuring that the M&E unit and other program staff are tracking and documenting program quality and progress
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Support the M&E unit in the development of quality M&E tools and operationalization of the global Pathways M&E Frame work\u00a0 to enable effective information\/data collection
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Ensure Project management in accordance with Donor IPIA and CARE Ghana policies.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Ensure documentation of processes, progress, results, impacts and lessons learnt to inform development of donor annual technical and financial reports<\/p>\n

Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 A minimum qualification of a first degree in Agriculture or Natural Resource Management
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Masters degree in Social Sciences, Agriculture or Natural Resource Management will be an added advantage
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 At least 5 years progressive experience in the area of project management and promoting gender equality,
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Experience in working with local communities, partnership with local NGOs and District Assemblies structures
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Knowledgeable in food security and nutrition issues
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 5 years with an international NGO Knowledge and understanding of communities livelihood issues including food security and nutrition and market oriented agriculture
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Experience in working with District Assemblies , NGOs and Private Sector
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrated capacity in at least two of the following areas: equity and diversity; vulnerability, governance and institution capacity building; poverty alleviation; and conflict resolution.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent facilitation, negotiation, networking, interpersonal and communication skills
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent administrative and project planning skills, management and communication and report writing, monitoring, supervisory and coaching skills
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Proven competencies in designing and conducting training and workshops
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet)
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent spoken and written English
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent professionalism and relationship building skills
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Critical thinking, creative and analytical
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and work in a team<\/p>\n
