Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title:\u00a0Monitoring & Evaluation Officer and Data Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Liaise between Africa RISING researchers in Ghana and IFPRI’s M&E team regarding overall monitoring of research activities and management of project generated gender disaggregated data
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Through field and desk activities, provide Africa RISING researchers necessary overall support with the planning, implementation, and documentation of Africa RISING activities, as well as the necessary protocols and requirements for gender disaggregated data collection
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Assist Africa RISING researchers and the M&E team with data management through CKAN and the PMMT. Monitor compliance with the Africa RISING data management plan by the researchers, especially timely uploading of data and embargo period
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Engage with relevant stakeholders in the technical and operational design and implementation of AR activities as well as gender disaggregated data collection
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Together with Africa RISING researchers in Ghana and in collaboration with the M&E team, through field visits and desk activities, collect and ensure timely (and complete) upload of FPF and custom indicators data through the PMMT, for final submission to the FTF Monitoring system.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Work with the M&E team and Africa RISING researchers in Ghana to analyse the data collected and write reports and joint publications as well as develop necessary project monitoring tools
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Interact with Africa RISING reseachers in the programme country and travel occasionally to programme countries, as necessary, for in-country meetings and trainings
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Perform any other official duties assigned by supervisor<\/p>\n

Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 At least Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics, Applied Economics, Applied Statistics, Biometry, Monitoring and Evaluation or a very closely related field<\/p>\n

Skills and experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Minimum of 3 years or proven experience in Monitoring & Evaluation in a complex, multi-stakeholder project
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrated success in the design and application of monitoring & evaluation system in a development context, preferably on the agriculture development sector
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Experienced in survey methodologies and design, data collection protocols, management, analysis and compilation
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Ability to work independently, pay due attention to details and deliver with efficiency
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Solid knowledge of Microsoft Application (Excel, Word processor) and data analysis software (such as Stata, SPSS, SAS, R, Genstat, etc)
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Fluency in written and spoken english
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrated strong writing skills and capacity to analyse complex phenomena and to publish findings in various forms
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in effective interactions and negotiations in a multi-cultural setting with researchers, policymakers, donors, and civil society, facilitating impact of research, capacity strengthening and bridging across disciplines
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Willingness to travel extensively within country and to programme countries as required
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Good organsational skills
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Good knowledge of the agriculture sector in sub-saharan Africa, especially in Ghana
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Working knowledge of a local language of relevance to the geographic areas of research focus<\/p>\n

Duration:<\/strong> Two-year, renewable contract based on performance and availability of funding<\/p>\n

Location:<\/strong> Tamale, with frequent travel to project sites<\/p>\n
