UK Trade &amp; Investment is the Government organization that helps UK based companies succeeds in international markets, and overseas companies to bring high quality investment to the UK\u2019s vibrant economy. It has two parent government departments, the Foreign &amp; Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS)<\/p>\n<p><strong>The main elements of the job include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Advising and supporting UK companies with their business interest in Ghana and responding to a large number of enquiries<br \/>\nDelivering a range of UKTI services to UK companies through the online Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS) and meeting challenging revenue targets<br \/>\nRegularly undertaking market research, preparing market information and arranging programmes and events for visiting UK companies<br \/>\nTaking the lead on specific sectors such as Oil &amp; Gas, Construction, Agriculture, Environment and Water, Climate Change and Creative Industries, to promote UK capability and innovation to key contacts in Ghana<br \/>\nProducing and maintaining high quality sector reports and trade information to inform UK industry stakeholders of developments in Ghana to be published online<br \/>\nOrganising trade delegation visits to Ghana and the UK, seminars, workshops and events<br \/>\nBuilding strong links with UK and Ghanaian organizations in order to understand the business climate and identify new opportunities for UK companies<br \/>\nFacilitate regular British Group meetings, encouraging a participatory environment to ensure they are productive and beneficial for those involved<br \/>\nHelping Ghanaian importers to establish links with British companies<br \/>\nInformation for applicants:<\/p>\n<p>The monthly salary range for LE2 positions in the BHC is GH\u00a21,780 (rising in increments of GH\u00a251 based on performance) to a maximum of GH\u00a2 2, 907. The starting salary will be determined by the successful applicant\u2019s experience and skills, but will be in the range GH\u00a21, 780 to GH\u00a2 1, 985<\/p>\n<p>The appointment will be offered initially on a 1 year contract, and subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period. Thereafter, the appointment will be renewed for periods of 3 years, subject to satisfactory performance, by mutual agreements<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prioritizing in a fast-paced work environment, working largely unsupervised and delivering to deadlines<br \/>\nAbility to work on own initiative and prioritise effectively under pressure<br \/>\nExcellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills<br \/>\nA good team player<br \/>\nGood organizational skills<br \/>\nAbility to think strategically and creatively \u2013 to identify the potential for joining up different strands of activity between the UKTI global network, HNC teams and between the BHC, DRID, British Council and Partners Across Government (PAGS); and to embrace change and opportunities to do things better\/differently\u2019<br \/>\nComputer literate with Microsoft Widows, Word, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint, and able to manage the information effectively with available computer systems, database and website<br \/>\nA good sense of marketing in order to present a positive and professional image to UK &amp; Ghanaian stakeholders\/customers, both in terms of communication and presentation of services<br \/>\nThe successful applicant is likely to have one or more of the following:<br \/>\nEducated to degree level (or equivalent work experience) preferably in a business\/marketing related field<br \/>\nComprehensive knowledge of the Ghanaian private and public sectors and economy in general<br \/>\nAn understanding of international trade issues<br \/>\nPublic speaking skills<br \/>\nThe successful applicant will need to:<\/p>\n<p>Observe the Foreign and Commonwealth Office\u2019s diversity and equality policies<br \/>\nShow some flexibility over working hours<\/p>\n<p>How To Apply<\/p>\n<p>Candidates should send their applications and CV for the attention of<\/p>\n<p>HR Manager<br \/>\nBritish High Commission<br \/>\nP.
