Started in 2009, we now operate in 10 markets, and are the only mobile agriculture solution working at scale. By moving into m-commerce, we will be able to help our customers communicate and transact with smallholder farmers.<\/p>\n<p>Headquartered in Nairobi, Esoko has operations in ten countries. In 2016, we will expand operations into three additional countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Director Of M-Commerce Solutions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reports to: CEO<\/li>\n<li>Location: Accra, Ghana or Nairobi, Kenya<\/li>\n<li>Job type: Permanent preferred but willing to consider consultancy<\/li>\n<li>Travel: approx. 25%<\/li>\n<li>Start date: Immediate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Summary of Role<\/strong><br \/>\nEsoko is changing how businesses manage smallholder farmers, suppliers and clients through the effective use of mobile\/web\u00a0innovations. The Director of M-Commerce Solutions will be responsible for driving the design and execution of an innovative technology solution that will change the way farmers and businesses communicate and transact with each other. You will work across the company to leverage skills and competencies as well as create a unique ecosystem of external partners required to make the innovation a success. We\u2019re looking for someone who is strong on process but is also a \u201cblue ocean\u201d thinker and strategist, not afraid of failing fast and knows how to pivot quickly, and passionate about the opportunity to lead ground-breaking innovation for a social enterprise that is driven by sustainability and impact.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with mobile operators, agribusinesses and other partners in multiple countries to pilot a proprietary solution that combines information and digital financial services in the agric sector<\/li>\n<li>Establish key performance indicators as well as the process to collect and analyze data against them<\/li>\n<li>Manage the pilot according to the work plan and on or below budget<\/li>\n<li>Document successes and failures and course correct as needed<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with investor requirements<\/li>\n<li>If successful, plan and execute the scale-up of the solution in those markets<\/li>\n<li>Start to position Esoko as a thought leader in the m-commerce space<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 7-10 years of experience managing complex projects in the design, development and deployment of mobile applications, especially digital financial services and\/or m-commerce<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s (preferred) degree in relevant field (e.g. Business, Marketing) from top university required<\/li>\n<li>Creative and original thinker \u2013 you are not afraid to chart the course in murky waters<\/li>\n<li>Highly process driven but not a slave to a business plan<\/li>\n<li>Quantitative \u2013 you are a data-driven decision maker<\/li>\n<li>Your EQ is as high as your IQ<\/li>\n<li>Passionate about working in a business with strong social impact and about innovative technology<\/li>\n<li>Able to articulate client needs and help translate them into product design<\/li>\n<li>Have a consultative approach to problem solving for clients<\/li>\n<li>Developing country professional experience preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We actively promote diversity, creativity, and professionalism in the workplace.
