When Prof. Joep Lange founded PharmAccess in 2001, he was determined to turn his groundbreaking scientific research on triple-combination drug therapy into action. His drive brought life-saving AIDS treatment to those who needed it most. Joep\u2019s vision of increasing access to affordable and better healthcare for people in sub-Saharan Africa is still at the heart of what we do.<\/p>\n

Building on this work on the front lines of HIV\/AIDS treatment, our focus has broadened to making healthcare finance and delivery more effective and more inclusive. We pioneer innovations that explore new directions and provide real world solutions in order to reverse the vicious cycle that stifles progress. We mobilize public and private resources for the benefit of doctors and patients through a combination of health insurance, loans for healthcare providers, quality standards, provider services, health analytics and mHealth innovations, that have been tested in our mHealth lab.<\/p>\n

Job Description <\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title: Finance Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

As Finance Officer, you will report to the Country Director and have specific responsibilities as follows:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain financial policies and procedures as in the approved Financial Administration Manual for the effective management of the office finances in line with best practices
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Preparation of the annual office budget and work with other relevant head office managers\/directors for approval
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Requests payments on a quarterly basis into the Euro bank account office budget
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Be responsible for effective handling and controlling of petty cash and cheques for the Accra office
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Advise and assist staff with the efficient planning, preparation and management of field budget and funds
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Manage the financial system for the timely provision of accurate financial reports
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Be responsible for financial administration and reporting using Exact software
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Prepare budget versus realisation reports on a monthly basis to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted limits and propose interventions where necessary
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Be responsible for liaising with auditors for annual audits and provide them with all required documentation and information for the preparation of the annual office financial accounts<\/p>\n

Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Relevant Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Professional accounting qualification is desirable
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the area of financial management, reporting and associated oversight. Experience in an international organisation is preferred
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent knowledge of financial accounting standards and proven ability to interpret and advise accordingly. Knowledge of advance excel is required and experience with Exact software is an advantage
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of information
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 High level of accuracy, professional attitude and attention to detail
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrated ability to interact with people at all levels and from different national and cultural backgrounds.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Candidate must have an excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact in an environment with multiple stakeholders

\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Able and willing to work in a dynamic, informal and results-oriented organisation

PharmAccess Offers<\/strong><\/p>\n

PharmAccess offers an excellent job opportunity in a dynamic international environment with solid terms and conditions that conform to industry standards. PharmAccess has a full-time workweek of 40 hours, a collective pension scheme and a medical insurance cover for employees and dependents. We offer 22 vacation days a year based on\u00a0 a full-time employment agreement. The initial contract will be for a period of 12 months subject to a probationary period of three months.<\/p>\n
