African Security Sector Network (ASSN)<\/strong> was created at Elmina, Ghana in November 2003, out of a recognition of the need to harmonise the activities of the various African organisations working in the area of security sector reform (or transformation) and governance.<\/p>\n Under direct supervision of the Executive Secretary (and working closely with the Programme Manager), this position involves:<\/p>\n Liaising with donors and keeping abreast of new funding opportunities Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Security Studies, International Relations or similar field (Master’s preferred)
\nPreparing work plans, budgets, donor reports
\nEnsuring familiarity and compliance with donor financial and other guidelines; and
\nKeeping track of reporting deadlines<\/p>\n
\nStrong writing skills and experience in report-writing; and familiarity with funding agencies and reporting requirements (actual experience with fundraising desirable)
\nFull competency in English and working knowledge of French is required<\/p>\n
