ACBF supports capacity development in Africa through grants making, knowledge sharing and technical assistance to countries and regional and sub-regional organizations. ACBF\u2019s approach to capacity development focuses on addressing capacity needs and gaps as well as on stakeholder ownership of interventions, project and program sustainability and synergy of interventions with other development funding institutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Protocol Assistant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Foundation seeks to recruit a Protocol Assistant who will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities among others;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain the Foundation\u2019s Diplomatic list ensuring that all details and other groupings of the diplomatic community in the host country are accurate and ensures that an updated list is maintained at all times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Process the accreditation, residence status and diplomatic identity cards of international staff members and their dependents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Arrange for the smooth arrival and departure of relevant travelers attending ACBF-sponsored functions by securing visas as well as meeting and seeing off VIPs at the airport<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Process and obtain Visas for the Foundation\u2019s visitors and staff members from all Embassies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Process and follow up all correspondence to the relevant authorities in processing requests for exports\/imports of goods for the Foundation including staff member\u2019s vehicles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective networks and working relationships with government, donors, diplomatic missions, international organizations, civil society organizations and other relevant partners; Arrange briefings and meetings with such agencies when required.<\/li>\n<li>Support the Communications Unit with the raising of the Foundation\u2019s profile and awareness of ACBF Regional Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Drive the Regional Director and staff members for their appointments, official trips and meetings logging all the trips and mileage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Selection Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Selection will be on a competitive basis and the following minimum qualifications, experience and competencies are required:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Minimum of a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Social Sciences, International Relations or any related field, with Driver\u2019s License.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Experience<\/strong>: Minimum of 2 years\u2019 experience with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and\/or with an International Organisation or Diplomatic Mission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Language:<\/strong>\u00a0 Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken). Knowledge of French<\/p>\n<p>would be an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Functional Competencies<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong organising, work planning and scheduling skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills both written and oral with ability to demonstrate sensitivity, tact and diplomacy in internal as well as external relations.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interact with senior levels, exercising the highest responsibility to handle confidential and sensitive issues in a responsible and mature manner.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment<\/li>\n<li>Excellent computer knowledge (MS applications, web and social media)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Application Process Applications, quoting the reference \u201cProtocol Assistant\/15\/16,\u201d including curriculum vitae, motivation letter including university transcription with three (3) referees should be received at the address below by <strong>22 October 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Executive Secretary <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The African Capacity Building Foundation <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>P.O.
