The Council, a sub-regional organisation responsible for the conduct of a variety of examinations in English-Speaking West Africa.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

The West African Examinations Council, Accra invites applications from interested and qualified persons to be appointed as. Assistant Examiners to mark scripts for the examinations its conducts.<\/p>\n

Examinations and Subject Areas for which Examiners are required:
\nExaminers are required for the following examinations conducted in Ghana:<\/p>\n

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
\nThe General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE)
\nThe Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE)
\nExaminers are required for all subjects for the above examinations particularly the following:<\/p>\n

WASSCE: English Language, Literature – in English, Mathematics (Core and Elective), Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Integrated Science, General Agricultural, Animal Husbandry, Crop Husbandry and Horticulture, Twi (Asante), Clerical Office Duties and Business Management<\/p>\n

G\/ABCE: Marketing, Human Resource Management, Office Administration and Practice, Typewriting, Informationa and Communication, Technology, Business Law, Auditing and Business Communication
\nTerms of Appointment: Successful applicants will be appointed on temporary basis. They will be listed for the marking exercises and related services for periods not exceeding three weeks at a time. Within the specified periods the work assigned to each examiner must be completed and duly handed over to the Council.<\/p>\n

Remuneration: Shall be stated in appointment letters inviting them to participate in each marking session<\/p>\n

Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

Applicants must have the following minimum qualifications:
\nWASSCE, GBCE AND ABCE:<\/p>\n

A degree in the subject applied for, obtained from recognized universities or institutions with a minimum of three years post-qualification teaching experience in the subject
\nApplicants must, in addition, be compute literate (at least be capable of using the word processing programme). They must also have demonstrated ability to be thorough and accurate in their work and be able to meet target dates. Their integrity must be unquestionable<\/p>\n

How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n

Applications forms can be downloaded at www.ghanawaec.org or collected at the Test Development Division of the WAEC Office in Accra (behind Ridge Hospital) or at any WAEC Branch Office in the regional capitals. Completed application forms, together with copies of relevant certificates\/transcripts can be submitted at any of the Council’s offices in Accra and the regional capitals. Applications received after 15th January, 2011 cannot be considered for the April 2011 BECE and the May\/June 2011 WASSCE and G\/ABCE marking exercises.<\/p>\n
