IPA designs, rigorously evaluates, and refines these solutions and their applications together with decision-makers to ensure that the evidence created is used to improve opportunities for the world\u2019s poor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Field Assistants, Escaping Poverty Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reports to: Project Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Location: \u00a0Project sit specified, Ghana<\/li>\n<li>Deadline to apply: 26th October, 2016<\/li>\n<li>Duration: 24 months (maximum)<\/li>\n<li>Desired start date: 14th November, 2016<\/li>\n<li>Job code: \u00a0EP-IMPL-02<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An International Non-governmental organization, dedicated to working with resource-constrained communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth seeks to employ 16 FIELD ASSISTANTS for a project in 14 districts namely:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Savelugu-Nanton, Kumbungu, and Tolon in the Northern region;<\/li>\n<li>Talensi, Kassena-Nankana Municipal, and Nabdam in the Upper East region;<\/li>\n<li>Kintampo North, Wenchi Municipal, Techiman Municipal, and Techiman North in the Brong-Ahafo region;<\/li>\n<li>Offinso North, Offinso Municipal, Afigya Kwabre, and Sekyere South in the Ashanti region<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Overall objective of job<\/strong><br \/>\nTo plan, direct and coordinate work with project participating households so as to ensure that specific project interventions are moving in the right direction and resources are applied in a judicious and accountable manner. The Field Assistant will perform the duties mentioned below and report to the Project Coordinator.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide weekly coaching services to households within the designated project operational area.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical backstopping and supervision to all the project households within the designated operational area so as to ensure that all planned activities are undertaken in a timely and impactful manner.<\/li>\n<li>Track project performance indicators and provide the relevant and essential input for addressing any challenges that may affect progression towards the project objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the designated Project Coordinator to plan and execute the yearly calendar of activities, in line with established organizational procedures and objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Document project outcomes, best practices and lessons learned for sharing with stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and submit periodic reports (as may be required by a supervisor) on all the household project activities and related matters in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out or liaise with other project staff to provide capacity development trainings to the project beneficiary households.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out any other duties that may be assigned to you by the designated Project Coordinator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Technical Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of participatory approaches.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of gender considerations.<\/li>\n<li>Strong writing and oral communications skills.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated skills and experience in training, including sound understanding of adult learning principles.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent coordination and facilitation skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Functional Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude<\/li>\n<li>Builds strong relationships with clients and external actors.<\/li>\n<li>Remains calm, in control and good humored even under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Responds positively to critical feedback and differing points of view.<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter, and self-motivated to work under minimum supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Preparedness to work with farmers in rural settings and especially with women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>B.Sc. degree or equivalent in Agriculture, Animal Science, Social Science, Rural Development or Veterinary Science.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of 2 years\u2019 practical experience in rural development work<\/li>\n<li>Computer literate in MS Excel and MS Word.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to ride a motor bike in rough and challenging terrains.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Language:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fluency in English, and Kasem, Frafra, Dagbani, Dagare or Twi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested and qualified applicants who meet the requirements should complete the online application form using the link below<\/p>\n<p>Please take note of the following instructions:<\/p>\n<p>Deadline for submitting applications is <strong>28th October, 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants who are selected will be contacted by email or phone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISCLAIMER:<\/strong> Please note that IPA will never require monetary compensation as part of its application process.
