Our global network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Cost Controller (Marine Works)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Cost Controller is part of the Construction Supervision team and focuses on the land works sector of the programme.<br \/>\nThe Cost Controller reviews payment claims of the construction contractors.<br \/>\nThe Cost Controller responds to queries and makes recommendations to the Engineer\u2019s Representative regarding payment of contractors, status of payment claims and comparison of actual cost to date versus planned costs.<br \/>\nThe Cost Controller reports to the Engineer\u2019s Representative for Land Works who reports to the Project Director.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Cost Controller will be responsible for<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Controlling and monitoring project total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.<\/li>\n<li>Cost control support which includes tracking of cost variations.<\/li>\n<li>Implementing and utilizing cost reporting and tracking tools including the use of project management system to monitor the status of cost claims and payments up to the closure of the project.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the planning and site supervision staff to resolve project issues with the goal of delivery\/completion of the project work.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in project meetings and discussions.<\/li>\n<li>Project cost reporting for use by the construction management and programme management teams; this includes monthly project status reporting with narrative description of status, issues and projections with comparisons to the project budget.<\/li>\n<li>Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cost Controller.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years of experience in the employ of an engineering consulting firm.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years of experience working on a large infrastructure project.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in the employ of a construction contractor is an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific skills required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Time Management.<\/li>\n<li>Complex Problem Solving.<\/li>\n<li>Active Listening.<\/li>\n<li>Critical Thinking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal Attributes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people.<\/li>\n<li>Commercial awareness.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to prioritize work and to work well under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to think quickly, logically and analytically.<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility, adaptability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Comments<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligibility to work in Ghana (due to nationality or work permit) is an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree from four-year College or University in Engineering Technology, Quantity Surveying, Business, Logistics or Accounting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What We Offer AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
