Our services include research, training, educational materials, and strategy, with activities ranging from seed projects to large-scale national and international initiatives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Senior Accountant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SUMMARY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To ensure sound fiscal management systems comply with donor rules and regulations. The accountant will perform a full range of financial management duties, including records management. This position reports to Finance Manager.<\/p>\n<p>The Accountant will provide support and backstopping to the Finance Analyst in all aspects. The Accountant manages all accounts and completes all routine accounting functions including monitoring of contractual financial data in order to ensure compliance with the approved budgets. This position is located in Accra, Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support EDC financial Management \/ Accounting functions;<\/li>\n<li>Maintain journal entries of wire transfers from Home office;<\/li>\n<li>Proceed for all transactions data entry in the QuickBooks system on a daily basis;<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate and complete accounting records;<\/li>\n<li>Comply with accounting and finance policies and procedures in accordance with USAID requirements and EDC policies<\/li>\n<li>Prepare payment vouchers and checks, distribute checks to vendors;<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure generation of timely and user friendly reports for tracking project income and expenditures;<\/li>\n<li>Assure accuracy of supporting documentation and entries for accounts reporting;<\/li>\n<li>Resolve any discrepancies or clarification for accounting records;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with completion of the monthly financial report.<\/li>\n<li>Organize and maintain accounting filing system;<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Support program staff in preparation of activity budgets;<\/li>\n<li>Reconcile travel and activity advances<\/li>\n<li>Review invoice accuracy<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Make bank transactions;<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and submit VAT refund claims on regular basis;<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and submit declarations of statutory salary deductions to GRA and SSNIT<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a minimum of 3 years of experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience with bookkeeping and accounting practices (experience with USAID projects preferable)<\/li>\n<li>Experience administering payroll and related income tax withholdings and benefits<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational skills and experience maintaining financial filing systems and reporting documents<\/li>\n<li>Experience producing financial reports for internal and external purposes<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Experience procuring goods and services and providing additional operational support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION CONTACT AND DETAILS TO APPLY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a local Ghana position.
