We envision that all American International School students will become vibrant and passionate world changers for Jesus Christ: instilling in them a biblical worldview, personal integrity, and compassionate service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Science Teacher, Middle School<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong>: Based on educational achievement and years of\u00a0experience<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to fulfill a middle school science teacher\u00a0opening.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This role will report to the Principal of Academics, Assistant Principal or Lead\u00a0Teacher.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job\u00a0Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The role of a middle school science teacher entails daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. \u00a0A middle school science teacher is responsible for encouraging and fostering intellectual curiosity while observing and evaluating student performance in the area of science. The daily tasks include but are not limited to grading papers, answering emails, taking student attendance, and preparing necessary materials for each class activity. The weekly tasks include but are not limited to communicating with parents, checking on students progress, updating curriculum and lesson plans, and completing Friday checklist provided by the principal. The monthly tasks include but are not limited to attending professional development trainings, reading professional development material and observing and evaluating student\u00a0progress.<\/p>\n<p><strong>General\u00a0Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To live a life reflective of Christian principles and practices in and out of the work environment, including personal online\u00a0profiles.<\/li>\n<li>Safeguard the interests of the Network of International Christian Schools (<span class=\"caps\">NICS<\/span>) and American International School (<span class=\"caps\">AIS<\/span>) and its\u00a0mission\/vision.<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible to carry out those items at the school level that are distinctive of <span class=\"caps\">NICS<\/span> schools as presented in the <span class=\"caps\">NICS<\/span> Missions Manual, and <span class=\"caps\">AIS<\/span> policies and procedures\u00a0manual.<\/li>\n<li>Provide leadership in the accomplishment of the spiritual mission of the\u00a0school.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the timely communications to administration and other\u00a0faculty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Travel <span class=\"amp\">&amp;<\/span>\u00a0Conferences<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A teacher must attend <span class=\"caps\">NICS<\/span> Impact Conference in the summer before\u00a0teaching.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with mission organizations, third culture kids, and missionary kid schools a\u00a0plus<\/li>\n<li>4 year degree\u00a0required<\/li>\n<li>Teaching Credential (State and\/or\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">ACSI<\/span>)<\/li>\n<li>Experience in\u00a0teaching<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>American International School, Accra, Ghana (AIS) is an accredited Christian school, serving a community of students from preschool to high school.
