{"id":19244,"date":"2016-11-17T09:33:19","date_gmt":"2016-11-17T09:33:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=19244"},"modified":"2016-11-24T16:07:08","modified_gmt":"2016-11-24T16:07:08","slug":"perseus-mining-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/perseus-mining-jobs.html","title":{"rendered":"Perseus Mining Jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Perseus Mining is a dual listed (Australia, Toronto) gold miner and explorer focused on the West African region.<br \/>\nPerseus Mining (Ghana) Limited (PMGL) has recently commissioned the world-class Edikan gold project in the Western Region of Ghana.<br \/>\nEdikan Gold Mine (EGM) has a current mining reserve of 3.3M oz of gold from a resource base of 4.3M oz.<\/p>\n<p>The Edikan processing facility has been designed as a 5.5Mtpa processing facility with the ability to expand this to 7.9Mtpa in the future. The plant is capable of producing at a rate of 220-270,OOOoz gold per annum.<br \/>\nPerseus Mining is a West African gold producer, developer and explorer with our three most advanced projects at different stages.<\/p>\n<p>Perseus&#8217; lead project is the Edikan Gold Mine (EGM), formerly known as the Central Ashanti Gold Project (CAGP), in Ghana. EGM comprises a group of large gold deposits located in the Ashanti gold belt. We started gold production at EGM in August 2011 and entered commercial production on 1 January 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Perseus has commenced exploration at a number of near-mine prospects, including Bokitsi, Mampong, Pokukrom and the Agyakusu prospecting licence with the goal of delineating further resources to extend the life of EGM.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Financial Accountant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The preferred candidate will prepare, examine, and analyse financial reports and records.<\/p>\n<p>The candidate will also be responsible for the preparation and submission of tax documents and create\u00a0effective and cost-efficient financial practices and procedures for the Edikan Mine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities: \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare periodic financial reports to assist in management decision making<\/li>\n<li>Check for compliance with national laws in all financial documents<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper administration of Treasure and Fixed Assets systems<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain good communication channels between departments to allow accurate and timely dissemination of relevant information to the right people<\/li>\n<li>Understand, interpret and apply relevant Ghanaian tax laws in business transactions<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with Auditors and Tax Advisors on issues relating to tax and audit<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely payment of royalties, national stabilisation levy, corporate tax, withholding tax and PAYE in accordance with Ghanaian Laws.<\/li>\n<li>Study operational issues and provide financial advice by applying financial principles, best practices and develop recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Create efficient methods for Accounting and financial record-keeping,<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties that commensurate the role<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration for the Role: Competitive and Attractive<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelors\u2019 degree in Finance!
