MEDA\u2019s project, Greater Rural Opportunities (GROW), seeks to improve food security for 20,000 families in northern Ghana. GROW helps women increase availability, access and utilization of a variety of appropriate and nutritious food through strengthening production and market linkages, increasing diversification in production, and creating nutrition awareness. The project works in eight districts of the Upper West Region and is at the mid-way point in a six-year lifespan.<\/p>\n

Job Title:\u00a0Field Area Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n

Project Summary \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Field Area Manager will lead the technical team to facilitate improved food security for women farmers and their families by sustainably linking them to markets for increased agricultural production and by facilitating increased understanding of nutrition. \u00a0The Field Area Manager is responsible to oversee effective management of program activities and MEDA\u2019s Field Office in the Upper West Region for the GAC-funded Greater Rural Opportunities for Women (GROW). \u00a0 This will include representing MEDA with both government and Key Facilitating Partners (KFPs) in the Upper West Region.<\/p>\n

The Field Area Manager will also oversee the project\u2019s administration, security and driving staff. \u00a0The administrative functions include: procurement and maintenance of assets, equipment and supplies; safety and security systems for both staff and assets; administrative support to the project team.<\/p>\n

As part of the senior management team, the Field Area Manager will collaborate closely with other areas of the project\u2019s management and contribute to its overall success. \u00a0This position will be based in Wa and may have frequent travels to Tamale for meetings. \u00a0He\/She will report directly to the Country Project Manager and work closely with Finance Manager and Admin\/HR Manager<\/p>\n
