Its expertise is in catalyzing investment, climate smart agriculture, empowerment &amp; resilience, institutional strengthening, and market systems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Vegetable Production Specialist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ACDI\/VOCA is currently seeking a Vegetable Production Specialist for an upcoming volunteer assignment in Ghana. The Tomato Processing Farmers Association is requesting volunteer assistance to increase their yields. The volunteer will train them on the best agronomic practices in vegetable production, focusing on seed selection, nursery management, transplanting, and diseases, among other topics. The assignment will last for approximately three weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living expenses are covered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Volunteer Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, or another relevant field.<\/li>\n<li>At least 5-10 years? experience in vegetable growing<\/li>\n<li>Proficient computer skills including MS Word and Excel<\/li>\n<li class=\"JHover\">The volunteer should be prepared to live in a rural and hot setting with limited or no access to amenities such as air conditioning or internet.<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Previous experience in rural African settings an advantage, although not required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As part of the Farmer-to-Farmer Consortium, this assignment is made possible through USAID funding.
