In this role as a control Application Engineer, you will utilize conceptual thinking and the ability to quickly determine applicability of GE technology to support the growing market in the MEA region.<\/p>\n Essential Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Provide engineering leadership and have responsibility for all technical aspects of assessing each opportunity upfront for feasibility.<\/p>\n \u2022 Identify risk areas and address technical issues inherent with retrofitting GE gas equipment.<\/p>\n \u2022 Review customer specifications and ensure offering satisfies requirements and identify exceptions and\/or clarifications.<\/p>\n \u2022 Coordinate with customers, GE regional and headquarters sales and operations support, EED components, and key Core Power Services organizations to ensure the Controls CM&U proposal is compatible with the unit, the customer needs, GE design standards and established quoting limits.<\/p>\n \u2022 Prepare and deliver technical presentations at customer meetings and conferences.<\/p>\n \u2022 Promote and contribute to business programs (cost reduction, continuous improvement, workout, business teams, etc.).<\/p>\n \u2022 Lead system level \/ fleet wide proposal activities.<\/p>\n \u2022 Review and own proposal related metrics.<\/p>\n Qualifications\/Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science or Electrical engineering<\/p>\n \u2022 Minimum of 10 years of Controls engineering experience<\/p>\n \u2022 Minimum of 8 years of Controls gas turbine, steam turbine and generator product knowledge<\/p>\n \u2022 Hands-on experience on MKV, MKVI, MKVIe and other GE power generation controls equipment<\/p>\n \u2022 Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in the role\u2019s location<\/p>\n \u2022 A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required (please indicate clearly on your resume) Nigerians Only.<\/p>\n Desired Characteristics<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Extensive background with GE Gas and Steam Turbine, generator controls product line<\/p>\n \u2022 Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems (toolbox, PLM\u2026)<\/p>\n \u2022 Solid industrial control experience, PLC application, with also IEEE and IEC standards<\/p>\n \u2022 Excellent written and oral communication skills<\/p>\n \u2022 Experience and demonstrated success working in a cross-functional environment<\/p>\n \u2022 Proven track record for delivering results and leading projects in a dynamic business environment<\/p>\n \u2022 Strong customer focus mindset<\/p>\n \u2022 Able to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment<\/p>\n \u2022 Master\u2019s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Sciences<\/p>\n \u2022 Fluent in English and French<\/p>\n \u2022 Six Sigma Green Belt certification (GE employees only)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" GE is the world\u2019s Digital Industrial Company, transforming industry with software-defined machines and solutions that are connected, responsive and predictive.
