Data bank offers investors a range of products and services that include wealth management, institutional funds management, pension fund management, brokerage services, corporate finance and research services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Data Base Administrator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Data bank is looking for a Database Administrator to join our IT professionals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose &amp; Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will report to the Head of Information Technology and work closely with the Information Technology team, to proactively monitor and tune all database systems to ensure 100% availability and to ensure optimal performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Installation of new software \u2013 Installing latest versions of Oracle software, MS SQL server.<\/li>\n<li>Security Administration \u2013 Monitoring and administering DBMS security.\u00a0 Creation of roles, profiles and auditing.<\/li>\n<li>Data Analysis \u2013 Data extract management.<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with third party software companies to effectively manage code drops.<\/li>\n<li>Report writing experience using script or crystal report.<\/li>\n<li>Proactive Monitoring of database performance.<\/li>\n<li>Proactive tuning\/optimization of all database systems.<\/li>\n<li>Cloning databases across multiple locations for testing purposes.<\/li>\n<li>Implementing regular disaster recovery tests.<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing backup and recovery strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Testing and exploring new database features<\/li>\n<li>Implementing an effective patch management system.<\/li>\n<li>Scheduling regular performance tuning exercises.<\/li>\n<li>Managing and mentoring junior team members.<\/li>\n<li>Implementing and documenting all change management processes.<\/li>\n<li>Documenting all database and application processes and schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Other assignments as directed by management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Terms and Conditions apply<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related studies.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum five (5) years\u2019 experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills\/Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A solid understanding and experience of relational database management systems such as Oracle and SQL Server. Oracle Architecture, Oracle Security, Backup and Recovery Procedures, Space Management.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of backup and recovery scenarios.<\/li>\n<li>A solid understanding and experience of systems analysis and design with Systems Testing Experience.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and interpersonal skills, willingness to learn new technology, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, a good team-player.<\/li>\n<li>Programming: Web\/Desktop Applications.
