\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Undertake analytical tasks within tight turnaround times and assist junior laboratory staff working under their supervision.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Accurately and safely use and carry out routine maintenance and performance checks on equipment with minimal supervision and report faults to Unit Supervisor.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Follow prescribed procedures and exercise a personal duty of care in maintaining laboratory equipment and facilities in good order<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Input results and generate printed reports.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Generate worksheet (lists)
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Carry out appropriate tests to confirm the identity of micro-organisms;
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Carry out appropriate antimicrobial sensitivity tests;
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrate an ability to use a range of automated equipment and manual techniques.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Carry out assays using appropriate analyzers and understand the significance and implications of the results obtained.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Carry out appropriate quality checks as required and complete quality record sheets as required.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Undertake any other duties or responsibilities as may be directed by the head of facility.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team of health workers in the facility.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Work with Laboratory Attendants and other Laboratory Assistants in a collegiate manner.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Attend and contribute at staff meetings.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Keep log of own performance and in-service training log for purposes of appraisal.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Possess at least two (2) years hands on experience in this field.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Have a proven record of success in the field of laboratory.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Knowledge and proven practice of the ethical codes protocols of laboratory medicine.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Must have passed the Allied Health Professions Council lincensure exam.<\/p>\n
