The WASH program\u2019s four-pronged approach:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Deepens households\u2019 initial sanitation demand using a marketing approach that engenders behaviour change;<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Designs and builds the capacity of local businesses to produce and sell affordable and sustainable sanitation solutions;<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Supports the establishment of local financial mechanisms to facilitate households\u2019 access to sanitation and hygiene solutions;<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Engages with local government authorities to sensitize them on the importance for enforcing regulations and creating an enabling business environment for the success of entrepreneurs providing a market-based sanitation and hand hygiene solution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Social Enterprise Financial Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Project Or Division:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Reports To:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0WASH Director<\/li>\n<li><strong>Location<\/strong>:\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Based in Tamale, with frequent day and\/or overnight travel to rural areas across the Northern, Upper East &amp; Upper West Regions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting Relationships: <\/strong>Reports directly to the WASH Director<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Social Enterprise Financial Manager (SEFM) produces and delivers meaningful, accurate, actionable, and timely financial analysis to Managers at all levels of the Sama Sama organisation.<\/li>\n<li>The Financial Manager will act as a conduit between customers, iDE operations and all teams within IDE GH\u2019s WASH team producing social enterprise management reports, establishing effective planning and processes for an in-house financing unit.<\/li>\n<li>The manager will be responsible for enhanced customer and economic value through synchronized management of income generating revenues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Core Responsibilites \u2013 Modifications may be made at any time<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain a documented system of social enterprise accounting policies, procedures and process maps<\/li>\n<li>Produce monthly, quarterly, annually and ad hoc, financial management reports regarding trends, variances, profitability and performance measurement<\/li>\n<li>Enhance customer profitability (new data feeds, new products, new methodology)<\/li>\n<li>Review company bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughput<\/li>\n<li>Participate in target costing activities to create products that meet predetermined price goals<\/li>\n<li>Build inter-departmental relationships, streamline processes and procedures, communicate new initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Funds Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Liase with the Organisation\u2019s Operations for continuous engagement on social enterprise financing requirements<\/li>\n<li>Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements<\/li>\n<li>Assist in determining the company\u2019s proper capital structure<\/li>\n<li>Work with Amplify Market (Strategic advisory Consultant) to arrange for equity and debt financing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Budgeting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the preparation of the company\u2019s budget, graphing and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Report to Sama Sama management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances<\/li>\n<li>Assist financial modeling in the formulation of its overall strategic direction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Accounts Receivables &amp; Cash Collections Management:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish appropriate payment channels for Sama Sama customers to make payments<\/li>\n<li>Manage and report on accounts receivables balances for a specific customer account base<\/li>\n<li>Set up robust processes for collections of overdue balances<\/li>\n<li>Ensure adherence to payment terms, while limiting bad debt, maximizing sales, and building customer relationships<\/li>\n<li>Manage relationships with third\u00a0 party financiers and external collection agencies<\/li>\n<li>Support Commercial Ops credit review and approvals for new accounts<\/li>\n<li>Review incoming requests to ensure that all required information is received<\/li>\n<li>Follow up with Commercial Ops team on obtaining any missing information<\/li>\n<li>Obtain and review available credit reports, third party\/bank references, financials, and other relevant information<\/li>\n<li>Approve\/deny credit terms and limit, assign appropriate risk codes, and\/or follow-up with management or Risk Group as applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduated from university with degree in Finance, or an MBA preferable<\/li>\n<li>At least 7 years work experience in management accounting, planning and non-banking lending<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of WASH is an asset<\/li>\n<li>Excellent spoken and written English<\/li>\n<li>Holds a valid drivers license<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants should post their Covering Letter and CV to email address <strong>hrdept.ghana@gmail.com.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>iDE\u2019s approach is creating demand for household sanitation and hand washing solutions and encouraging local businesses to invest their own resources to serve the demand.
