Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title:\u00a0Back End Web Developer<\/strong><\/p>\n Are you the person we\u2019re looking for?<\/strong><\/p>\n We need a talented developer with a strong grasp of PHP, MySQL and WAMP\/LAMP frameworks. We also want people who are looking to join an innovative and start-up, offering great scope for career development and future growth.<\/p>\n As a Back End Web Developer, you will be responsible for developing the back end of websites and usable coding for use by the public and our client base. You will also be responsible for debugging problems and offering critical support to other members of the team. Additionally, you will ensure smooth integration with existing libraries and command line utilities.<\/p>\n As a minimum we need people who have:<\/p>\n \u2013 Experience of PHP\/Python with a solid knowledge of object oriented programming written in enterprise-class reusable, testable, and efficient JavaScript;<\/p>\n \u2013 Some experience with the MVC framework (CakePHP, Zend or Laravel);<\/p>\n \u2013 World beating MySQL skills, including database design, development and optimisation;<\/p>\n \u2013 some familiarity with and\/or a working knowledge of front-end technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery;<\/p>\n \u2013 Working knowledge of windows server shell commands; and<\/p>\n Experience of writing scalable presentation-server code with associated server API tests and the documentation specific to developed APIs and component implementations.<\/p>\n What else would be good?<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2013 Bachelors level or higher, Computer Science (or web development related) degree;<\/p>\n \u2013 Extensive hands-on development experience with a viewable portfolio;<\/p>\n \u2013 Knowledge of source control, such as Mercurial and\/or GIT;<\/p>\n \u2013 Previous experience of working with Amazon Web Services, including EC2, S3, Cloud Front and Route 53;<\/p>\n \u2013 Experience of working with other scalable hosted solutions; and<\/p>\n \u2013 Experience of working on mobile and\/or responsive web projects.<\/p>\n Other Information<\/strong><\/p>\n Unlike other companies we work a four day week (Monday to Thursday), but we pay a full time salary.
