The Ghana Health Service <\/strong>is an autonomous Agency of the Ministry of Health responsible for providing and prudently managing comprehensive and accessible health service at Regional, District and Sub-district levels in accordance with approved national policies. To achieve this, the GHS must attract and appoint suitably qualified personnel to carry out its mandate at various operational levels.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Liaise with the Customs Excise and Revenue Clearing organizations for the quick payment or processing of exemptions as well as the clearing and storage of all goods purchased locally or internationally by the Ghana Health Service (GHS)
\nProvide appropriate skills required for the conveying, storage and handling of all drugs, chemicals, equipment and other medical consumables at all levels of the GHS
\nEnsure an accurate up to date and database record of commodities and stock transactions
\nMaintain a nationally integrated stock control system enhancing the swift delivery of drugs, equipment and other supplies with regard to the state and quantity of the items and to the location required
\nMaintain a system for prioritising the requests form competing health institutions and serving them accordingly
\nOrganize the receipt and inspection of drugs, equipment and other supplies to ensure that specifications and quantities conforms to specification
\nCondition: Applicants outside must be able to serve a full term of 4 years effective 1st July 2011 before attaining the compulsory retiring age of 60 years<\/p>\n

Compensation: The Ghana Health Service compensation package is competitive in the Public Sector
\nRequired Skills or Experience<\/p>\n

Membership of a recognized professional management body i.e. CIPS with a minimum of 7 years post qualification working experience in Supply Chain management in a reputable organisation with 3 years in a senior management position. A relevant PhD is desirablbe
\nApplicants must in addition to specific qualification as indicated have postgraduate qualification relevant to the position and considerable strategic, interpersonal and analytical skills with a deep understanding and appreciation of the strategic and operational challenges in the Health Sector.
\nProvide evidence of leadership and continuous professional development or valid registration from the professional institution if applicant’s profession is regulated by law
\nThe ideal candidate must be performance driven and keen to achieve results<\/p>\n
