The Ghana Health Service<\/strong> is an autonomous Agency of the Ministry of Health responsible for providing and prudently managing comprehensive and accessible health service at Regional, District and Sub-district levels in accordance with approved national policies. To achieve this, the GHS must attract and appoint suitably qualified personnel to carry out its mandate at various operational levels.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

To provide short and long term Human Resource requirement, personnel information and data base management<\/p>\n

Responsible for managing the HR planning department
\nDevelop Staffing norms to guide postings and transfers
\nInvolve in initiating HR strategies
\nSupervise manpower information system
\nManage manpower ceilings and control of staff costs
\nSupervise production of manpower plans and projections
\nMonitor and evaluate Human Resource Planning programmes
\nMonitor HR utilisation and offer other technical support and advice at Divisionial, Regional and District levels
\nPrepare and submit routine and annual reports
\nPerform any other duties assigned by Director, HRD from time to time
\nCondition: Applicants outside must be able to serve a full term of 4 years effective 1st July 2011 before attaining the compulsory retiring age of 60 years<\/p>\n

Compensation: The Ghana Health Service compensation package is competitive in the Public Sector<\/p>\n

Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

Applicants should have a post-graduate qualification in Human Resource or a Degree in Human Resource with a postgraduate qualification in Administration\/Management with at least 7 years work experience in Human Resource. The last 3 years must be in a Senior Management position preferably in the Public Health Sector. Membership of the Institute of HR Management Practitioners (Ghana) will be a desirable
\nApplicants must in addition to specific qualification as indicated have postgraduate qualification relevant to the position and considerable strategic, interpersonal and analytical skills with a deep understanding and appreciation of the strategic and operational challenges in the Health Sector.
\nProvide evidence of leadership and continuous professional development or valid registration from the professional institution if applicant’s profession is regulated by law
\nThe ideal candidate must be performance driven and keen to achieve results
