We are dynamic and have had a mission of capacity developing civil society organisations enabling them to reach a level of professionalism and effectiveness so that they are able\u00a0 to contribute, dialogue and monitor the implementation of Government policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;STRENGTHENING THE DISABILITY MOVEMENT OF GHANA THROUGH ADVOCACY AND ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Ghana Federation of the Disabled (GFD), in conjunction with the\u00a0Disabled Peoples&#8217; Organization,\u00a0Denmark (DPOD),\u00a0Danish Association of Disabled (DAD), Danish Association of the Blind (DAB)\u00a0and\u00a0Danish Deaf Federation (DDF) are seeking\u00a0Programme Manager\u00a0in management and advocacy. Although based in Accra, the programme includes a number of districts scattered through the country. GFD work to promote the rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) with the support of member organizations through continuous advocacy towards local and national Government. The Programme Manager will need to demonstrate experience in this area, Work experience in the disability sector will be an advantage. This senior management post offers a unique opportunity for the individual to make significant impact in furthering the strategic development of the disability\u00a0movement in Ghana.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Day to\u00a0day\u00a0management of the programme based on strategic directives from the steering bodies<\/li>\n<li>Lead, plan, report, evaluate and document processes related to the programme &#8220;Strengthening the Disability movement in Ghana through advocacy and organisational Development, 2010-2013&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Enable cross organizational learning processes within the entire disability movement<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate effective operation and capacity development of involved partners<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to advocacy processes at local and national levels<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate monitoring visits of Danish partners and smooth communication between Danish and Ghanaian parties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will be joining a diverse group of committed professionals working to improve conditions for PVDs in Ghana.
