Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Location: Head Office
\nWorking Environment: Office based with occasional travels to the Regions\/Districts<\/p>\n

Responsible to the Chief Executive for the image building, image enhancement and coporate image development of the Commission. He\/she directs and performs advisory work in connection with the public relations programme of the Commission, including extensive contacts with private and public agencies, and the departmental heads<\/p>\n

Monitor all matters affecting the Commission in the print media, radio, television and by the public
\nEducate the public through television, radio on the Commission activities and ensure correct reportage
\nArrange briefings for the Commission’s staff
\nPlan and execute strategies that contribute to the enhancement of the Commission’s image
\nBuild a strong relationship with the media and other stakeholder groups to deliver a positive image of the Commission
\nSend adverts and publications to the media for publishing
\nPrepare speeches\/presentations for the Chief Executive, where necessary
\nContact media houses and selected agencies to conduct investigations and follow up requests directed by the Chief Executive
\nLiaise with the directors and regional heads to ascertain reported matters and advise the Chief Executive
\nPromote good corporate image of the Commission
\nPrepare and submit annual reports
\nScan through newspapers for publications and issues concerning the Commission and bring to the attention of the Chief executive
\nMaintain an open relationship between the media and the Commission by ensuring free flow of information between the Commission and the media
\nDevelop programmes to assist the Commission carry out its social responsibilities
\nOversee the organisation of seminars, conferences and workshops
\nMake travel documentation, accomodation and reception arrangements for personnel and guests of the Commission
\nDeal with all protocol issues of the Commission
\nPerform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Superior
\nRequired Skills or Experience<\/p>\n

A Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Communication with 6 years experience in practice or Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from a recognised University with a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience is required
\nVery good interpersonal relationship and effective in dealing with people and colleagues
\nAbility to work under pressure and with minimum or no supervision
\nGood communication skills both orally and written
\nExperience in media work
\nComputer Literacy Skills
\nTeam Player
\nWillingess to travel at short notice
\nAbility to communicate effectively
\nAbility to make public presentations
\nHigh integrity and confidentiality
\nMust be self-disciplined and self-motivated
\nMust be fair and firm<\/p>\n
