Its expertise is in catalyzing investment, climate smart agriculture, empowerment &amp; resilience, institutional strengthening, and market systems.<\/p>\n<p>ACDI\/VOCA is currently seeking a Maize and Rice Specialist for an upcoming volunteer assignment in Ghana. Fair River International Association for Development is requesting volunteer assistance to train their members on good agronomic practices for maize and rice production. The volunteer will cover a number of topics, including seed spacing, fertilizer application, weeding, and harvesting, among others. The assignment will last for approximately two weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living are covered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Maize and Rice Specialist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Volunteer Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"\">University degree in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">At least 5-10 years? experience in maize and rice production<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">The volunteer should be prepared to live in a rural and hot setting with limited or no access to amenities such as air conditioning or internet.<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Previous experience in rural African settings an advantage, although not required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ACDI\/VOCA is an economic development organization that fosters broad-based economic growth, raises living standards, and creates vibrant communities.
