It is the fifth public university to be established in Ghana. This deviates from the usual practice of having universities with central campuses and administrations. It was created with the three northern regions of North Ghana in mind. These are the Northern Region, Upper East Region and the Upper West Region<\/p>\n<p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Director of University Health Services<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties\/ Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Director of Health Services shall:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be the Head of the University Health Directorate<\/li>\n<li>Plan and Implement policies on the University Health Services<\/li>\n<li>Provide leadership to all the staff in the University Health facilities<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the \u2013 activities and operation of all the University\u2019s Health Facilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidate must have the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An MB ChB or Dentistry (BDS) qualification.<\/li>\n<li>A Postgraduate Degree from a recognised Institution of Higher Learning in the relevant specialization.<\/li>\n<li>Must Either<\/li>\n<li>Have a minimum of ten (10) years post qualification experience in the practice of Medicine\/Dentistry. \u00a0 <strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Show evidence of post qualification experience in a Senior Management position for at least two (2) years within the Ghana Health Service or in the Directorate of Health Services in a University or analogous institution.<\/li>\n<li>Be able to work for a minimum of five (5) years before attaining the statutory retirement age of sixty (60) years.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants who are Members and\/or Fellows of recognised and relevant Professional Bodies would have added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested candidate(s) should present three (3) copies of their applications together with curriculum vitae, publications and other relevant documents;<br \/>\nCandidates should also include names, postal addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers of three (3) referees, who should be requested by the candidate to forward their confidential reports to the address below;<br \/>\nIn addition, candidates should send a brief statement of their vision for the University for Development Studies Health Services and the strategies for achieving this, in not more than two pages of A4 size paper;<br \/>\nThe complete application should be sent to:<\/p>\n<p>The Registrar<br \/>\nUniversity for Development Studies (UDS)<br \/>\nP.
