Oxfam in Ghana brings people together. There is extreme poverty here, particularly in the north, and as the climate gets more variable, people are becoming even more vulnerable. So we work with poor men and women – a lot of them farmers – and civil society groups, and help people use their collective voice to push for agricultural policies that will really work for them.<\/p>\n

Combined with development projects, this work is very powerful – and we have seen successes. My role specifically involves working with the groups on research, lobbying, media work and popular campaigning that will really get people’s voices heard.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title:\u00a0People and Culture Manager\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The role of the People and Culture Manager is a new position within Oxfam in Ghana to support in the facilitating an organisational change process currently on going.<\/p>\n

The People and Culture Manager will work closely with the Country Director and Country Leadership Team to implement the Human resources policy, talent management processes within the organisation and support Civil Society Organisation partners on key Organisational development needs<\/p>\n

Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

Skills and Competencies<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 A Bachelor’s degree with a preference for candidates with a combination of business knowledge and HR experience, along with industry certification or a masters in human resource degree together with a sound knowledge of employment legislation and Ghana labour laws
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 A minimum of 4 years relevant experience working in a management or leadership HR position
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Experience of working in an NGO will be an added advantage
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Experience in managing organisational change process within a large organisation
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Experience in HR specialist function, organisational design, performance management, reward management, recruitment and selection
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Experience of implementing, maintaining and improving relevant systems and procedures
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Familiarity across the recruitment process, including induction
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Sound judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Good computer skills, MS Excel, MS Word and Power Point
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Well organised with strong time management skills
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 The ability to work under pressure and leadership qualities such as strong work ethic, trustworthiness, self-confidence and the ability to delegate responsibilities
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrate good judgement, creativity and a positive attitude
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Respect for diversity and sensitivity to other cultures<\/p>\n
