Challenging Heights is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation in Ghana that works to protect children\u2019s rights and end child trafficking. Founded by James Kofi Annan in 2005, our main efforts focus on addressing trafficking of children to Lake Volta, where they are forced to work in the fishing industry. We work in underserved coastal communities in Ghana, providing support to women and children in hard-to-reach areas that are at risk of child trafficking.<\/p>\n

\n Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Lead the Partners in Development Programme<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Review, develop and deliver the Partners in Development Programme<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Drive advocacy and fundraising by establishing and fostering successful relationships with all our individual visitors as well as any organisation lead co-ordinator<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Maintain comunication with all contacts pre- and post-visit to ensure maximum benefit is derived for them, us and to identify funding opportunities for Challenging Heights<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Co-ordinate all visits to Challenging Heights including youth partners, funders, interns and other interested parties<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Prepare for these visits with exceptional logistical skills which need to cover all aspects including designing the detailed itinerary, accommodation, transportation, visa documents, supplies, etc.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Support these visitors during their stay by troubleshooting their concerns, leading them in activities and providing cultural insights<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Communicate with Challenging Heights management to determine meaningful and valuable opportunities and activities for both the visitors and our organisation\u2019s strategy<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Drive partnering visits, relationships and opportunities in Ghana and abroad by researching and reaching out to prospective schools, community groups and individuals<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Liaise with our fundraising organisations who develop relationships on our behalf and collaborate with them on visits by funders<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Support logistics for major external events<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Support the Senior Management team in developing relationships with other NGOS and government agencies, particularly within Ghana<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Represent the organisation at stakeholder meetings, workshops and conferences<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n Skills & Experience:<\/strong><\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n 1-2 years of demonstrated success in volunteer recruitment\/management or similar work by engaging guests<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Track record of working or travelling cross-culturally, preferably with some experience in African and Western countries<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Significant event and\/or project management experience, preferably in an NGO setting<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a breadth of communications experience<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n English language oral and written skills are essential<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Maturity and highest levels of professionalism, ethical behaviour and cross-cultural understanding<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Critical thinking skills and high level analytical skills<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Excellent IT skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google\u2019s suite, and basic web management<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Sense of humour, patience and easily adaptable<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n <\/td>\n \uf0b7<\/td>\n Knowledge of international development or human trafficking is a significant advantage<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n Start date: Preference will be given to candidates able to start in March or April 2017.
